Colloquia Hound began its days as an awkwardly-named (and rather primitive) site called "What's Happening At Cornell?", which was created to help me keep track of the myriad of talks, seminars, and other cool academic events that occur at Cornell University. I found it necessary to create one aggregate source of information, as Cornell (as well as other institutions) has no standardized method to track departmental colloquia.
Over the course of the past few months, WHAC developed into a more advanced site with a friendlier name, all running on the wonderful CakePHP Framework. The site itself is generously hosted by Ancient Wisdom Productions, an Ithaca-based web design and marketing company.
Colloquia Hound is in its initial stages of branching out to other institutions and is growing at a very fast pace, with the goal of 75% of Cornell University's and Ithaca College's academic talks catalogued by mid-March.
